If you haven’t been to Ray & Al’s in tiny, down-on-its-heels Galien, in between Three Oaks and Buchanan, well, you need to change that. It’s a delightful lunch spot with homemade sandwiches, soups, fresh salads, baked goods and Dark Matter Coffee. I’ll get a post up about it soon, but meanwhile, the women behind Ray & Al’s have opened Alan Rays, a coffee shop in the new Commune space in Three Oaks.

It’s a pretty spot with lots of light, a roaring fire, and plenty of places to park yourself for a coffee, pastry or meeting. Wander over to Handmade Studio under the same roof, and browse the art prints and handmade goods, or sign up for an art class.
Alan Ray’s, 105 N. Elm St., Three Oaks, Michigan
