Post Boy, the innovative New Buffalo restaurant that recently celebrated one year in business, has announced its lineup of celebrity chef takeovers. 

Yup, this is your chance to enjoy a meal by top chefs without leaving the area.

Here’s the lineup of what the restaurant calls its Abandon Ship dinner series, and a look at the menu for the first dinner, taking place next week. (A few seats are left.)

November 13 – Chef Neil Zabriskie of Regards in Portland, Maine. Zabriskie is chef-owner of Portland’s acclaimed Regards, named one of Bon Appétit’s 50 Best New Restaurants of 2022. He grew up in Southern California and worked in New York City kitchens. He likes to combine Mexican and Japanese influences with fresh local seafood and produce. Zabriskie also has been recognized as a Plate Magazine “Chef to Watch.”
Here’s a look at his menu for Post Boy:

  • Snack-sized chicken liver bites with pistachio and Szechuan graham crackers
  • Fresh scallop and bay laurel ceviche
  • Tamales with garlic chives and a rich macadamia mole
  • Beef tongue  with mustard seed and hoskigaki dried persimmon
  • Burnt tostada ice cream with tangerine and vermouth granita

    December 7 – Chef Cody Chassar of Gunshow in Atlanta
    Chassar, chef de cuisine of Atlanta’s Gunshow, leads one of the South’s most inventive kitchens, known for its ever-changing menus and farm-first philosophy. He began his career at Midwestern fast-food restaurants before cooking in Southern restaurants and landing at Gunshow, a Michelin-recommended destination. Chassar spotlights local growers and ranchers, bringing “playful creativity” to the table, according to a release.
    January 29 – Chef Dylan Patel of avec  in Chicago
    Dylan Patel is executive chef of avec, the much-lauded OG of innovative Chicago dining. Patel grew up cooking traditional Indian recipes and grilling outdoors before diving into Mediterranean cuisine as an intern at avec. His spice-driven, Mediterranean-rooted dishes have since earned him a spot on Nation’s Restaurant News’ 2022 Power List.

March 19 – Chef Yara Herrera of Hellbender in New York

Herrera is the chef/partner at the Mexican-American restaurant and bar Hellbender in Ridgewood, Queens. A first-generation Mexican-American born and raised in Los Angeles, she has worked in big-name restaurants such as Michelin-recognized Providence, Wolfgang Puck’s Spago, David Chang’s Momofuku Ko, and more. At Hellbender, named one of Esquire’s Best New Restaurants in 2024, she showcases her distinctive approach to Mexican-American cuisine, “blending tradition with innovation.”

Tickets, likely to sell out, are available on Tock for $120 per person plus tax and gratuity, with wine pairings for an additional $50. Cocktails will be available à la carte.

The restaurant is also offering a prix fix meal deal on Mondays and Tuesdays: $47 for three courses (choose from any on the menu) plus dessert.
